Ryan Irby lança novo EP 'The Green Dream' sendo o primeiro trabalho do tipo lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado alguns singles que fazem parte do EP.
O novo trabalho é uma meditação sobre um futuro roubado, uma exploração da tristeza e da dor da catástrofe climática. Reunindo elementos do folk dos Apalaches e da harmonia da Sacred Harp com texturas eletrônicas vintage e neopsicodelia, o disco cristaliza nitidamente o conflito do natural e do artificial. 'The Green Dream' nos conquista com suas 5 faixas que são cativantes, suaves, nos leva para longe, em um clima bem relaxante que nos faz refletir profundamente.
'Blindest Eye' é a primeira canção, inicia com toque de violão que é bem presente durante a faixa, trazendo um clima de montanha que refresca nossa mente, com vocais que fazem nosso corpo flutuar como se estivéssemos nas nuvens, rapidamente sentimos dentro da faixa. As batidas soam de forma crescente e lenta, o vocal nos lembra de Michael Stipe, vocalista da banda R.E.M. A letra aqui é marcante e profunda, como se nossos olhos estivessem fechados para realidade que nos cerca. A música inaugura o EP com qualidade incrível, com instrumental diversificado, criando uma atmosfera única.
'Like Hell' é a segunda canção, um folk com violão trazendo acordes frescos, sons de piano nas transições, é uma faixa que tem uma harmonia maravilhosa entre vocal e instrumental. Com um início de letra que diz que os olhos estão queimando, outro trecho diz que os sonhos estão se despedaçando, é uma faixa que traz uma linguagem metafórica sobre o aquecimento desenfreado que o planeta vem passando. Após a metade, a canção aumenta sua atmosfera e energia com batidas que são encantadoras e um toque de ukelele que entra, uma canção que surpreende completamente.
'Dog Named Banjo' tem uma introdução gostosa e encantadora, um show a parte que nos liga ao lado mais natural das coisas. Um trad folk como se fosse ancestral, com arranjo que é contagiante, efeitos de cachorros latindo ou uivando, é uma maravilha instrumental. O EP passa pela quarta faixa 'No Mind', que tem uma sonoridade bem suave e com o vocal que nos leva para lugares mais isolados, como se fosse a faixa para um acampamento, uma noite de fogueira e céu estrelado.
'A Greener House' chega para finalizar o EP, com um dream pop e sintetizador psicodélico, um som retrô futurista que nos leva entre 1980 a 2080, faz nosso corpo mexer. Com um som que lembra riffs de guitarra, as batidas iniciam com 2 vocais que levam a canção em meio ao ritmo agitado. Tem euforia e nos deixa alucinados.

Ryan Irby releases new EP 'The Green Dream', the first work of its kind released this year. Previously, he had released some singles that are part of the EP.
The new work is a meditation on a stolen future, an exploration of the sadness and pain of climate catastrophe. Bringing together elements of Appalachian folk and Sacred Harp harmony with vintage electronic textures and neo-psychedelia, the album clearly crystallizes the conflict between the natural and the artificial. 'The Green Dream' wins us over with its 5 tracks that are captivating, smooth, and take us far away, in a very relaxing atmosphere that makes us reflect deeply.
'Blindest Eye' is the first song, it starts with a guitar that is very present throughout the track, bringing a mountain atmosphere that refreshes our mind, with vocals that make our body float as if we were in the clouds, which we quickly feel within the track. The beats sound increasing and slow, the vocals remind us of Michael Stipe, lead singer of the band R.E.M. The lyrics here are striking and profound, as if our eyes were closed to the reality that surrounds us. The song opens the EP with incredible quality, with diverse instrumentals, creating a unique atmosphere.
'Like Hell' is the second song, a folk song with acoustic guitar bringing fresh chords, piano sounds in the transitions, it is a track that has a wonderful harmony between vocals and instrumentals. With a beginning of lyrics that say that the eyes are burning, another part says that dreams are falling apart, it is a track that brings metaphorical language about the unbridled warming that the planet is going through. After the half, the song increases its atmosphere and energy with beats that are enchanting and a touch of ukulele that enters, a song that completely surprises.
'Dog Named Banjo' has a pleasant and enchanting introduction, a show in itself that connects us to the more natural side of things. A trad folk as if it were ancestral, with an arrangement that is contagious, effects of dogs barking or howling, it is an instrumental marvel. The EP ends with the fourth track, 'No Mind', which has a very soft sound and vocals that take us to more isolated places, as if it were a track for a campfire, a night with a bonfire and a starry sky.
'A Greener House' comes to end the EP, with a dream pop and psychedelic synthesizer, a retro futuristic sound that takes us from 1980 to 2080, making our body move. With a sound that resembles guitar riffs, the beats start with 2 vocals that lead the song in the middle of the fast pace. It is euphoric and leaves us hallucinating.
