2nd Brightest Object lança novo EP 'Emergent Signals' sendo o segundo trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado o single 'Get It Done' nesse ano.
'Emergent Signals' é o terceiro EP do 2nd Brightest Object. Críticas preliminares dizem que o EP tem uma vibe new wave/rock/punk pop dos anos 80 e início dos anos 90, similar a Go-Gos, Blondie e The Bangles. O novo trabalho chega com 5 faixas que estão eletrizantes, nos levando em uma nostalgia do indie rock.
'Catch Me' é a primeira canção, chega com riffs d guitarra que são vibrantes, com uso de sintetizador que nos conquista, uma leveza sonora que nos leva aos anos 80, as batidas são cativantes e agitadas. O vocal nos leva em um estilo post punk, rock e influências pop, com refrão eletrizante que agita os ouvintes.
'Eclipse' tem o sintetizador etéreo ao fundo, toques de bateria e a guitarra que entra e nos contagia. A canção tem uma atmosfera que envolve a gente completamente, uma faixa que passa algo transcendental e nos leva em um refrão que gruda facilmente.
'Sky Rider' é mais rock and roll, com batidas fortes, com aquela sensação do rock europeu anos 80 e 90, uma faixa que é cativante no início com o vocal fazendo um coro mais agudo, sons que trazem algo mais dark, batidas que aceleram nossos corações e esse ambiente capta nossa atenção. A música vai crescendo, com batidas agitadas e então os riffs de guitarra são constantes na faixa, com transições que paralisam a guitarra em alguns trechos.
'It's Been A While' tem riffs de guitarra no início, com som forte que vai crescendo como em um rock progressivo, com a vocalista nos levando, é uma faixa versátil, que assume uma outra face em seu decorrer, um rock que lembra os anos 90.
'Take a Shot' é a quinta faixa, finaliza o EP com um som rock, batidas ao estilo Punk e forte, vocal despojado que é expressivo e cria uma atmosfera que nos conecta fortemente com a sonoridade.

'Catch Me' is the first song, it arrives with vibrant guitar riffs, with the use of synthesizers that win us over, a light sound that takes us back to the 80s, the beats are catchy and lively. The vocals take us on a post-punk, rock and pop-influenced style, with an electrifying chorus that excites the listeners.
'Eclipse' has an ethereal synthesizer in the background, drum beats and a guitar that comes in and captivates us. The song has an atmosphere that completely envelops us, a track that conveys something transcendental and takes us into a chorus that easily sticks.

'It's Been A While' has guitar riffs at the beginning, with a strong sound that grows like progressive rock, with a vocalist leading us. It is a versatile track that takes on another face as it progresses, a rock that reminds us of the 90s. 'Take a Shot' is the fifth track, and ends the EP with a rock sound, punk-style beats and strong, stripped-down vocals that are expressive and create an atmosphere that connects us strongly with the sound.
