Zack Clarke lança novo álbum 'Plunge' chegando ao seu quinto trabalho do tipo. Antes, foi lançado o álbum 'Mesophase' em 2018. Nessa ano, foram lançados algumas faixas que fazem parte do novo álbum.
Zack é pianista que recebeu treinamento do New England Conservatory e estudou com as lendas do jazz Jason Moran, Danilo Perez, Fred Hersch e Kenny Werner. O novo disco "Plunge" pega sua experiência trabalhando em círculos de jazz e vanguarda e a combina com sua outra paixão, que é fazer música eletrônica.
Para começar, tem a primeira faixa 'Alternative Facts' que tem um som eletro com toques de piano psicodélico que nos deixa alucinados, com teclas agudas e que parecem não ter uma organização em termos de melodia, mas ao longo da canção sentimos o jazz EDM tomar conta da canção e então somos levados em uma estrutura versátil e contagiante, algo que mescla o avant garden e o jazz ácido.
'Mighty' é a segunda canção, com toque de piano mais acelerado e influências clássicas, as batidas entram e depois levam a um crescimento da música. Somos levados em uma canção ao estilo pop retrô futurista, com influências de algo mais sofisticado do jazz, é um som que em alguns trechos lembram algo dos games dos anos 80 ou 90. A faixa tem transições que são impressionantes e mudanças de ritmo que nos leva para diferentes ambientes.
'Grahmcrackers' é a quarta canção. Com batidas que agitam a faixa, sintetizador que é eletrizante com algo que lembra dubstep, o piano traz o som cativant. O piano nos leva em uma experiência que parece ser hipnotizante, uma faixa que faz nossa mente girar.
'Highpoint' é a quinta canção, tem um estilo mais dark no começo e cresce com teclas frequentes e um som que interage com a gente em meio a uma repetição de padrões sonoros, é uma música cativante que gruda rapidamente e nos coloca em pensamentos que fazem nossa mente flutuar para lomge.
'Earnts' é a sexta canção, com toques mais EDM, uma canção que parte do nada e vai crescendo, adquirindo um corpo, com trechos de transição, uma faixa fascinate forte e que envolve a gente no álbum.
'Whatever' é a décima faixa, uma canção intensa, com piano que é cheio de energia; 'Fragment' tem um começo suave, somente com piano, de repente entram batidas que nos leva a ficar mais agitados, algo funk com jazz, o sintetizador presente. 'Loons' é a décima segunda canção, com muita variedade de sons, lembra um game antigo, um som retro futurista, uma canção que faz a gente flutuar para longe com seu estilo psicodélico.
Para finalizar, tem a décima sexta,a última canção 'Anthem' que traz o jazz mais agitado, que vai nos colocando dentro da faixa, certamente um jazz ambiente moderno que faz o clima ficar mais especial e que agrada as pessoas do ambiente.
O novo trabalho 'Plunge' mostra Zack e sua visão genial de misturar gêneros que são difíceis de dar certo e então nos eletriza em uma experiência única que faz nossa mente girar e nos deixa em uma vibe jazz e EDM, um som futurista.

Zack Clarke releases new album 'Plunge', his fifth work of its kind. Previously, the album 'Mesophase' was released in 2018. This year, some tracks from the new album were released.
Zack is a pianist who received training from the New England Conservatory and studied with jazz legends Jason Moran, Danilo Perez, Fred Hersch and Kenny Werner. The new album "Plunge" takes his experience working in jazz and avant-garde circles and combines it with his other passion, which is making electronic music.
To start, there is the first track 'Alternative Facts' which has an electro sound with touches of psychedelic piano that leaves us hallucinating, with high keys that seem to have no organization in terms of melody, but throughout the song we feel the EDM jazz take over the song and then we are taken in a versatile and contagious structure, something that mixes avant-garde and acid jazz.
'Mighty' is the second song, with a faster piano beat and classical influences. The beats come in and then lead to a crescendo of the song. We are taken by a song in the style of retro futuristic pop, with influences of something more sophisticated than jazz. It is a sound that in some parts reminds us of something from games from the 80s or 90s. The track has impressive transitions and changes of rhythm that take us to different environments.
'Grahmcrackers' is the fourth song. With beats that shake up the track, an electrifying synthesizer with something reminiscent of dubstep, the piano brings the captivating sound. The piano takes us on an experience that seems to be hypnotizing, a track that makes our mind spin.
'Highpoint' is the fifth song, it has a darker style at the beginning and grows with frequent keys and a sound that interacts with us amidst a repetition of sound patterns. It is a captivating song that quickly gets us hooked and puts us in thoughts that make our mind float away.
'Earnts' is the sixth song, with more EDM touches, a song that starts out of nowhere and grows, acquiring a body, with transitional sections, a fascinating and strong track that involves us in the album.
'Whatever' is the tenth track, an intense song, with piano that is full of energy; 'Fragment' has a soft beginning, with only piano, suddenly beats come in that make us more agitated, something funk with jazz, the synthesizer present. 'Loons' is the twelfth song, with a great variety of sounds, reminiscent of an old game, a retro futuristic sound, a song that makes us float away with its psychedelic style.
To finish, there is the sixteenth, the last song 'Anthem' that brings more agitated jazz, that draws us into the track, certainly a modern ambient jazz that makes the atmosphere more special and that pleases the people in the room.
The new album 'Plunge' shows Zack and his genius vision of mixing genres that are difficult to get right and then electrifies us in a unique experience that makes our minds spin and leaves us in a jazz and EDM vibe, a futuristic sound.
