Buko Shane lança novo álbum 'Pandemic Blues' sendo o primeiro grande trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado alguns singles que fazem parte do álbum.
Pandemic Blues é um novo álbum da banda de rock finlandesa Buko Shane, lançado no Long Lake Studio (LLS09) em 1º de agosto de 2024. A banda é conhecida por sua eletrificada música rock experimental influenciada pela cultura americana, mas neste lançamento, uma abordagem mais acústica e minimalista de cantor e compositor é escolhida. A maioria das músicas apresenta apenas vocais, violões e um ou dois outros instrumentos. Pandemic Blues foi escrito e gravado durante e após a COVID. A música é inspirada nos sentimentos, humores e experiências durante esses quatro longos e loucos anos, desde o início da pandemia.
Para começar, tem a primeira faixa 'Another Sunday Morning', que chega com muita suavidade nos acordes de violão, nos dando a oportunidade de ouvir a passagem das cordas, em um estilo intimista que faz a gente se sentir próximo do artista. A canção relata na pandemia ter os dias como quaisquer outros, sendo só mais um domingo de manhã para quem ficou no lockdown naquela época, uma canção lenta e suave, mas que traz o peso daquele tempo.
'I Should Let You Go' a terceira faixa, com um toque minimalista das cordas do violão, um folk acústico maravilhoso na melodia que é extremamente cativante e confortável. A suavidade toma conta e então somos levados com um vocal sólido e mais grave em seu timbre, com os finais dosversos ficando mais alongado, é uma canção que podemos pensar em um romance vivido na pandemia ou alguém especial que marcou nossa vida na pandemia. A música vai crescendo, chegando em um refrão cantante.
'See That My Grave is Kept Clean' chega com um estilo mais blues, com um som que nos instiga, uma melodia que é vibrante, algo mais velho oeste e country sentimos aqui. Uma canção cinemática com elementos instrumentais como órgão, um vocal misterioso e sussurrante, batidas discretas, um som bem emblemático, um hino atemporal.
A sétima faixa 'My Old Companion' tem um clima mais introspectivo, com o vocal sólido, batidas discretas que a faixa crescer gradualmente com o vocal que nos leva em meio a acordes de violão bem característicos do folk acústico com uma influência country blues. A canção temuma história para passar, somos colocados dentro dessa linha, com solo de violão que é arrebatador.
A décima canção 'California (In My Dreams Again)' chega com um folk agitado, com batidas rápidas nos acordes de violão, é aquela canção folk que nos traz ânimo e nos agita, podemos sonhar ir em busca de um lugar para acender uma fogueira e assistir o céu estrelado com essa canção sendo tocado como trilha sonora desse momento. Uma canção que é edificante, marcante e contagiante.
O novo álbum 'Pandemic Blues' possui 11 faixas, um trabalho fenomenal que traz um dos momentos mais difíceis na história contemporânea e com um som folk, consegue passar os sentimentos e experiências vividos, resgata a memória daquele período com canções envolventes e cantantes.

Buko Shane releases new album 'Pandemic Blues', the first major work released this year. Previously, some singles were released that are part of the album.
Pandemic Blues is a new album by Finnish rock band Buko Shane, released at Long Lake Studio (LLS09) on August 1, 2024. The band is known for their electrified experimental rock music influenced by American culture, but on this release, a more acoustic and minimalist singer-songwriter approach is chosen. Most of the songs feature only vocals, acoustic guitars and one or two other instruments. Pandemic Blues was written and recorded during and after COVID. The music is inspired by the feelings, moods and experiences during these four long and crazy years, since the beginning of the pandemic.
To start, there is the first track 'Another Sunday Morning', which arrives with very soft guitar chords, giving us the opportunity to hear the passage of the strings, in an intimate style that makes us feel close to the artist. The song talks about having days like any other during the pandemic, just another Sunday morning for those who were in lockdown at the time. It's a slow and gentle song, but it carries the weight of that time.
'I Should Let You Go' is the third track, with a minimalist touch of the guitar strings, a wonderful acoustic folk melody that is extremely catchy and comfortable. The softness takes over and then we are taken by a solid and deeper vocal in its timbre, with the ends of the verses becoming longer. It's a song that we can think of as a romance lived during the pandemic or someone special who marked our life during the pandemic. The song builds up, reaching a sing-along chorus.
'See That My Grave is Kept Clean' arrives with a more bluesy style, with a sound that instigates us, a vibrant melody, something more old west and country we feel here. A cinematic song with instrumental elements such as organ, a mysterious and whispering vocal, discreet beats, a very emblematic sound, a timeless anthem.
The seventh track, 'My Old Companion', has a more introspective feel, with solid vocals and discreet beats that gradually build up to the vocals that take us through acoustic folk guitar chords that are very characteristic of country blues influences. The song has a story to tell, and we are placed within this line, with a guitar solo that is captivating.
The tenth song, 'California (In My Dreams Again)', arrives with an upbeat folk style, with fast beats on the guitar chords. It is that folk song that cheers us up and excites us. We can dream of going in search of a place to light a fire and watch the starry sky with this song playing as the soundtrack to that moment. A song that is uplifting, striking and contagious.
The new album 'Pandemic Blues' has 11 tracks, a phenomenal work that brings one of the most difficult moments in contemporary history and with a folk sound, manages to convey the feelings and experiences lived, rescuing the memory of that period with engaging and singable songs.
