Bad Valentines lança novo single 'Mariia' sendo o primeiro trabalho lançado pela banda.
Bad Valentines surgiu do solo musical fértil que é o distrito de Kallio, em Helsinque, no final de 2023, com uma coisa em mente: contar as coisas como elas são. O principal compositor e guitarrista Pekko Mantzin elabora: "Acordei uma manhã, dois anos atrás, e descobri que um amigo ucraniano havia postado uma foto com uma mensagem assustadoramente simples: GUERRA". Mantzin, junto com o baterista colaborador de longa data Sirpa Immonen, bem como o baixista Edu, o guitarrista Kupe Wessman e o vocalista Hon, encontraram um ponto em comum e seu primeiro single Mariia nasceu. Mantzin continua: "Na verdade, levou meses estudando a letra para acertar, todos esses sentimentos confusos como tristeza, ansiedade e aversão tiveram que ser desembaraçados e colocados em forma catártica. Que melhor maneira de fazer isso do que com música".
O novo trabalho chega com um rock and roll vibrante, com um arranjo que tem tons sombrios, que nos contagia e nos conquista, com batidas fortes que agitam a gente por dentro, o baixo dita o tom e a guitarra é bem presente e constante, trazendo riffs que nos distorcem entre os trechos.
'Mariia' tem um refrão cantante, forte, que gruda rapidamente em nossa mente. Os ouvintes sentem uma energia catártica, pronto para explodir e deixar a música nos arrebatar para longe. Bad Valentines traz o melhor estilo dos anos 90 e 2000, em um indie rock com uma pegada punk e o jeito europeu, nos levando em uma experiência inter continental no rock, um som vibrante do começo ao fim.
'Mariia' nos traz a liberdade do rock and roll, com aquela sensação de estar em uma noite em um bar de punk rock, uma faixa que nos faz pular e cantar juntos do início ao fim, incendiando a gente por dentro.

Bad Valentines release new single ‘Mariia’, the band’s first full-length release.
Bad Valentines emerged from the musical hotbed of Helsinki’s Kallio district in late 2023 with one thing in mind: to tell it like it is. Lead songwriter and guitarist Pekko Mantzin elaborates: “I woke up one morning two years ago to find that a Ukrainian friend had posted a photo with a hauntingly simple message: WAR.” Mantzin, along with long-time drummer collaborator Sirpa Immonen, as well as bassist Edu, guitarist Kupe Wessman and vocalist Hon, found common ground and their debut single Mariia was born. Mantzin continues: “It actually took months of studying the lyrics to get it right, all these confusing feelings like sadness, anxiety and disgust had to be untangled and put into cathartic form. What better way to do that than with music.”
The new album arrives with vibrant rock and roll, with an arrangement that has dark tones, that infects and wins us over, with strong beats that shake us up inside, the bass sets the tone and the guitar is very present and constant, bringing riffs that distort us between sections.
'Mariia' has a strong, sing-along chorus that quickly sticks in our minds. Listeners feel a cathartic energy, ready to explode and let the music sweep us away. Bad Valentines brings the best style of the 90s and 2000s, in an indie rock with a punk touch and a European style, taking us on an intercontinental rock experience, a vibrant sound from beginning to end.
'Mariia' brings us the freedom of rock and roll, with that feeling of being at a night in a punk rock bar, a track that makes us jump and sing along from beginning to end, setting us on fire inside.
