Former Lives releases new single 'Some things Never Change is Inevitable', the first work released this year. Previously, the singles 'Ceremony of Leaving' and 'Dear in Headlights' had already been released in 2022.
Former Lives began as a way for Klassen to process as his life was thrown into turmoil after suffering a traumatic brain injury. He soon found partners, including producer Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Menomena, Typhoon, Grails), singer/songwriter Sabrina Velazquez Summers (Montclaire), and vocalist Madison Fenton, producing his 2022 debut Ceremony of Leaving.
Former Lives is a love letter to overdrive guitars, analog synths, and eerie pop music, started by Sean Joseph Klassen and his dog, Bruce Beagle. The new work is a melancholy but happy indie for dreamers, which explores themes of isolation and perseverance through the vivid depiction of an asthma attack.
'Some Things Never Change is Inevitable' arrives with an indie pop rock that electrifies us, a delicious sound that makes us want to get in the car and head out on the road with the music turned up loud, a delicious adrenaline rush.
