Powers of the Monk lança novo single "Puffy Head" sendo o terceiro trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado os singles "Switchin' Rails" nesse ano em uma versão original e outra remix e "Firefly" no ano passado. Também têm o álbum "Killing Time" de 2006.
Fundada em 2006 por David s. Monk e CasSondra Powers, através disso já podemos entender o nome do duo, que é genial. David fica no vocal, guitarra e teclado. CasSondra fica no vocal e violino.
Esta é uma música divertida sobre astronautas conquistando o espaço. Eles usam o termo “Cabeça inchada com pernas de pássaro” para explicar os efeitos das viagens espaciais no corpo humano e transformamos isso em uma sequência onírica de aventuras no espaço, completa com encontros com alienígenas.
"Puffy Head" já tem um início transcendental com vozes suaves e um toque doce de acordes que faz a gente já começar nossa jornada para flutuar. As batidas iniciam a criam corpo para a música, que nos leva com uma voz leve e que nos conquista nesse indie pop rock que traz vibes retrô.
A faixa é leve, agradável, uma melodia que faz a gente imaginar ouvir em um cair da noite, quando estiver frio, chuva e poder fechar os olhos e viajar pelo espaço, ir para lugares nunca explorado antes, poder expandir horizontes.
"Puffy Head" tem seu efeito atemporal, com algo que nos leva para os anos 60, somos contagiados com a ideia, em um looping temporal que podemos fazer essa viagem pelo tempo, com a cabeça inchada de tanta informação obtida pelos lugares que podemos ir através da música e pernas de pássaro, aquele efeito que um astronauta tem quando explora o universo.

Powers of the Monk releases new single "Puffy Head" being the third work released this year. Previously, the singles "Switchin' Rails" had already been released this year in an original version and another remix and "Firefly" last year. They also have the 2006 album "Killing Time".
Founded in 2006 by David s. Monk and CasSondra Powers, through this we can already understand the name of the duo, which is brilliant. David is left without vocals, guitar and keyboards. CasSondra is on vocals and violin.
This is a fun song about astronauts conquering space. They use the term “Swollen Head on Bird Legs” to explain the effects of space travel on the human body, and we turn it into a dreamlike sequence of space adventures, complete with story-telling encounters.
"Puffy Head" already has a transcendental beginning with soft voices and a sweet touch of chords that makes us start our journey to float. The beats begin to create body for the song, which takes us with a light voice and we are won over by this indie pop rock that brings retro vibes.
The track is light, pleasant, a melody that makes us imagine listening to it at nightfall, when it's cold, rainy and being able to close our eyes and travel through space, going to places never explored before, being able to expand horizons.
"Puffy Head" has its timeless effect, with something that takes us back to the 60s, we are infected with the idea, in a temporal loop that we can take this trip through time, with our heads swollen with so much information obtained from the places we can go through music and bird legs, that effect an astronaut has when exploring the universe.
