Lili-Violet releases new single "Blue" being the first work released this year. Previously, the singles "Time+Space" had been released last year and "Anxiety" in 2022.
This single, "Blue," marks the final release before her debut EP, "Dear Lilith," scheduled for July 2024. Co-written and produced with Jarred Young, "Blue" offers a heartfelt exploration of queer relationships at a rhythm fast-paced, tackling issues such as love bombing, ghosts, gaslighting and control. Reflect on how to navigate internalized biphobia and the erasure of your sexuality while learning self-love in the midst of vulnerability. It serves as a response to past relationships, confirming one's own shortcomings to one's partner's standards, ultimately occurring as a declaration of trust and healing.
"Blue" begins with striking riffs, a rock touch reminiscent of the 2000s, satisfying that longing in a nostalgic way. Lili's voice is fantastic, starting out even more introspective and her tone grows with the beats of the song, which moves us towards an explosive chorus.
In the chorus, the music infects us and then runs through our veins with rock that makes us sing along. "Blue" quickly wins us over with its blazing guitar and strong beats. The chorus is delicious and becomes addictive.
"Blue" is a track that shows Lili's quality of being able to express feelings and emotions and yet manages to bring an anthem to modern rock that makes us jump from beginning to end, in a vibrant sound that electrifies us from the beginning to the end.
