Shining Nothing lança novo single "Heavy" sendo o primeiro trabalho lançado nesse ano. Antes, havia sido lançado o single "Enough" no ano passado e o EP "Shining Nothing" em 2022.

Shining Nothing são espirituosos cantores de rock de garagem de Chicago, onde fundem a melodia com uma abordagem moderna do taoísmo que Alan Watts aprovaria. Os membros da banda se conheceram tocando em shows em porões nos subúrbios de Chicago. A ética DIY e a forte comunidade na área de Chicago os levaram de shows house underground para locais como Beat Kitchen, The Abbey e Cobra Lounge. “Adoramos muita música, desde Ramones a Bob Dylan, mas alguns de nossos clássicos incluem The Strokes, Dr. Dog e The Growlers. Nesse rock de garagem DIY é uma genialidade, somos levados em um patamar que lembra a sonoridade de The Strokes, em um som mais vintage da guitarra, algo do rock clássico, é um hino para quem não se importa em estar vazio, uma faixa que não liga para o peso do vazio, mas surfa em uma onda atemporal em uma faixa que diria progressiva e punk em alguns trechos, mas que consegue ser atemporal pelo fato de nos levar aos anos 50 e 60 e de repente estamos em um indie rock moderno.

Shining Nothing releases new single "Heavy" being the first work released this year. Previously, the single "Enough" was released last year and the EP "Shining Nothing" was released in 2022.

Shining Nothing are spirited garage rock singers from Chicago who fuse melody with a modern take on Taoism that Alan Watts would approve of. The band members met playing basement shows in the Chicago suburbs. The DIY ethic and strong community in the Chicago area have taken them from underground house shows to venues like Beat Kitchen, The Abbey, and Cobra Lounge. “We love a lot of music, from the Ramones to Bob Dylan, but some of our classics include The Strokes, Dr. Dog and The Growlers. Being from Chicago, we also have a special affinity with our local heroes like Dehd, Deeper, Divini Niño and Twin Peaks.” they said.

"Heavy" arrives with an introduction that captivates us, with a performance vocal that sings in a laid-back way amidst agitated beats and soft guitar riffs and keys in the background. We are taken into an indie rock that is striking, with a versatile sound, something that makes our mind float and grows until reaching the chorus where the atmosphere increases and electrifies us.

This DIY garage rock is genius, we are taken to a level that recalls the sound of The Strokes, in a more vintage guitar sound, something from classic rock, it's an anthem for those who don't mind being empty, a track that doesn't care about the weight of emptiness, but surfs a timeless wave in a track that would say progressive and punk in some parts, but that manages to be timeless due to the fact that it takes us to the 50s and 60s and suddenly we are in modern indie rock .

"Heavy" is strong and striking, it makes us want to sing together, it has a life of its own and this tapestry that brings energy and vibration to indie rock, a track that expands and grows throughout, making us electrify ourselves in transitions and in its melody that combines perfectly with the vocals, bringing its own expressive style.
